1970 Corvette: For the 1970 model year, Chevrolet Corvette sales suffered significantly, but that was no fault of this classic car’s. Due to a shortened model year as a result of a UAW strike in 1969, the 1969 model year was extended so that it took a few months longer than normal for the 1970 model year Corvettes to become available in United States show rooms.

The 1970 Chevrolet Corvette didn’t have much in the way of cosmetic changes, but it did feature a new grille. To drive this classic car, buyers could enjoy either a 3-speed Hydra-matic or 4-speed manual transmission. Several engine options were available, but the biggest was, of course, the most exciting. The 454 cubic inch V8 engine could produce 460 horsepower at 5,600 rpm. To further impress, this engine could help the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette fly past the quarter mile mark in just 13.8 seconds at 108 miles per hour.

Available as  a 2-door coupe and a 2-door convertible, anyone looking to buy one of these beauties was happy to learn that the base price for the 2-door convertible was less expensive than its coupe counterpart.  The convertible came with a price tag of $4,849, while the coupe was $5,192. As with any other car, adding other options made those numbers climb.

Although the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette was unable to sell at levels that were comparable to previous model years, this model did have to contend with a shorter model year. In the end, it still remains a great classic car.
